How to stop Neck Creep - Fast!
I'm sure we’ve all been there ... standing in front of the mirror wondering why our skin suddenly looks dull, dry, or just off. You’re investing in all the right products (or so you think), watching all the TikTok's, doing the 7-step routines and still not getting that glow.
Here’s the secret: skincare isn’t just about what you put on your skin, it’s also about how and why. So today, let’s have an honest bestie-to-bestie chat about the most common skincare mistakes and how to fix them fast.
Ready? Let’s glow.
More isn’t always better. In fact, piling on product after product can do more harm than good, especially if you're mixing actives like retinol, AHAs, and vitamin C without knowing how they play together.
✅ Fix it: Start with the basics: a gentle cleanser, a hydrating moisturizer, and SPF in the morning. Once your skin settles, then you can introduce targeted treatments one at a time.
“I’m indoors all day.” “It’s winter.” “The sun’s not even out.”
Sound familiar? UV rays don’t care about clouds and they sneak in through windows too.
✅ Fix it: Use SPF 30 or higher every single day ..... yes, even in winter and yes, even when it’s gloomy. Your future skin will thank you.
Buying products meant for oily skin when you’re dry? Using mattifying cleansers on already-sensitive skin? That’s a one-way ticket to inflammation.
✅ Fix it: Take a few days to observe your skin. Is it tight and flaky (dry), shiny by midday (oily), or both (combo)? Once you know your type, you can shop smart.
Remember those gritty scrubs from high school? Turns out, they can cause tiny micro-tears in your skin barrier. Ouch.
✅ Fix it: Switch to a gentle chemical exfoliant like lactic acid or mandelic acid 2–3 times a week max. Your skin should feel soft, not sandblasted.
Your neck and décolletage are just as exposed as your face, but they’re often left out of the routine.
✅ Fix it: Extend your skincare steps (especially SPF and moisturizers) all the way down to your chest. It’s the easiest anti-aging tip no one talks about enough.
That steamy shower might feel divine, but your skin’s moisture barrier? Not so much. Hot water strips away natural oils, leaving your skin dry, tight, and angry.
✅ Fix it: Lukewarm water is the sweet spot. Think cozy, not scalding.
If you're doing everything right and still breaking out, the culprit might be lurking on your pillow or that “forgotten since last month” blending brush.
✅ Fix it: Wash your pillowcase at least once a week and clean your brushes every 3–5 days. It makes a huge difference.
If your skin feels tired, dry, or just not its usual self , sometimes it needs a little reset. One of my go-to’s lately has been the PureLumin Essence because it’s light, super hydrating, and packed with skin-brightening ingredients that help even tone without irritation.
If your skin’s been acting moody (mine totally was), give it a try and let it do its thing.
